OGDEN/WEBER CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU SELECTS TRUMBA TO POWER ITS ONLINE EVENT CALENDARS
Utah Community Leverages Trumba Connect To Give Tourists and Residents Greater Access to Local Events of Interest
SEATTLE, WA, February 26, 2007 – Trumba Corporation, a developer of innovative online calendaring solutions, announced today that the Ogden/Weber Convention and Visitors Bureau (Ogden/Weber CVB) has selected Trumba Connect to power its online event calendar. Ogden/Weber CVB has integrated Trumba Connect into its web site to give tourists and residents greater access to local events of interest. Trumba Connect helps organizations increase event awareness and attendance and better connects them with their audiences through a comprehensive suite of tools that includes a hosted, interactive web calendar, email, and reporting services.
The Ogden/Weber community consists of three ski resorts, a rural mountain community, and a metropolitan area. Through its online event calendar, Ogden/Weber CVB offers tourists and residents access to a variety of events and attractions categorized by topics such as “Family Fun” and “Symphonies and Ballets.” Ogden/Weber CVB works in conjunction with 12 community partners including Golden Spike Arena, Weber State University, Ogden/Weber City and County, and others, to cross promote a variety of events such as triathlons and marathons, its Harvest Moon and Balloon festivals, nature center classes, destination events, city council meetings, public hearings, and art classes. In addition to the Ogden/Weber CVB event calendar, each community partner has its own Trumba Connect-powered calendar. Event information can easily be shared from one calendar to the other.
“Trumba Connect allows us to easily collect event information into one source that visitors and local citizens can access,” said Shelleice S. Stokes, President and CEO of Ogden/Weber Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Through cross promotion of events and strengthened communication between our partners, we are able to bring the community together and raise greater awareness and attendance for these events.”
Trumba calendars are interactive, so tourists and residents can connect with, rather than simply view, the Ogden/Weber CVB events by adding them to their personal calendars, setting event reminders, forwarding event information to friends, subscribing to email updates and RSS feeds, and more. The calendars are also searchable and events can be sorted by date and type of event, making it easy for visitors to find events that matter.
To keep its event calendars active and interesting, the Ogden/Weber CVB provides a Trumba event submission form that works in connection with the web site calendars. When community members use the form to submit events, CVB staff members have a chance to review and approve the submissions before they go live.
“The Ogden/Weber Convention and Visitors Bureau is a prime example of how Trumba Connect allows organizations to bring their communities together and share information for the benefit of their visitors and residents,” said Jeremy Jaech, CEO of Trumba. “Not only do they increase awareness of all their community has to offer by promoting these events throughout their web site, but they also create valuable connections with their key constituents in a more interactive, dynamic way.”
