TRUMBA ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF THREE MORE OTTAWAY NEWSPAPERS’ ONLINE EVENT CALENDARS
Online Calendars for The Portsmouth Herald, The Times Herald Record, and
The New Bedford Standard Times Now Live Using Trumba Connect
SEATTLE, WA, June 4, 2007 – Trumba Corporation, a developer of innovative online calendaring solutions, announced today that the online event calendars for three additional Ottaway newspapers are now live using Trumba Connect. The Portsmouth Herald (www.seacoastonline.com), The Times Herald Record (www.recordonline.com) and The New Bedford Standard Times (www.southcoasttoday.com) are the latest of Ottaway Newspapers’ seven Web sites to deploy the online calendaring solution. Trumba Connect helps organizations increase event awareness and attendance and better connects them with their audiences through a comprehensive suite of tools that includes a hosted, interactive Web calendar, email, and reporting services.
The Portsmouth Herald, The Times Herald Record and The New Bedford Standard Times are using Trumba Connect to enhance their calendars’ functionality and promote awareness for local and regional events. Visitors can search for events by name or scroll through the months to see what is happening in their local communities. Events can be sorted by a specific region or event type, such as theatre, reunions, arena events, concerts, festivals, singles, nightlife or children’s activities. Visitors can then add events to their personal calendars and forward them to friends and family. In addition, they can arrange to be notified if events change and set text message or email reminders. Visitors can also easily submit their own event information, keeping the calendars active, updated and locally centered.
“We are thrilled to have three more of our newspapers’ online calendars live for visitors to use,” said Matt Courtney, Web Application Manager of Ottaway Newspapers, Inc. “Trumba Connect has allowed us to quickly and efficiently update these calendars with advanced features and functionality.”
Trumba Connect enables each newspaper to maintain a consistent brand look and feel, easily transferring publishing settings, such as font, color, etc., from one calendar to another. Trumba Connect also helps Ottaway Newspapers automate its publishing process through a unique RSS feed feature that allows event information to be automatically exported from the online event calendars to its print edition calendars.
“It is important for newspapers to connect with their local communities and provide them with the latest event information,” said Jeremy Jaech, CEO of Trumba. “Trumba Connect makes it easier for these regional newspapers to become a solid, reliable resource for event information that covers all areas of interest and ages. The interactive event calendars help engage readers and connect them to friends, family and their local community.”
