TRUMBA CORPORATION JOINS INCOMMON FEDERATION

University of Washington Sponsors Trumba's Membership in Identity Management Federation

Seattle, WA, September 16, 2013 – Trumba Corporation, a developer of innovative online calendaring solutions, announced today their membership in the InCommon identity management federation, underscoring Trumba’s commitment to serving the higher education community. Trumba Connect helps universities and organizations increase event awareness and attendance, better connecting them with their constituents through a comprehensive suite of tools that includes a hosted, interactive web calendar, email, reporting services and more.

Trumba’s membership in the InCommon federation was sponsored by the University of Washington, which recently launched their university-wide events calendars using Trumba Connect. "InCommon federation will certainly make it easier for them to do so."

Trumba’s Single Sign-on (SSO) capability was a key requirement for the UW in selecting Trumba for their campus-wide online event publishing. Trumba’s SSO feature (based on the SAML 2.0 standard) interfaces with the UW’s Shibboleth installation, allowing UW calendar editors to sign in to Trumba using their UW Net ID, eliminating the need for multiple login IDs or passwords. Trumba’s seamless integration with the university’s identity management and authentication system makes using Trumba’s calendaring solution simple and secure.

Universities and institutions participating in InCommon have an established trust relationship. Member institutions can automatically download Trumba’s SAML metadata, making it easy to set up Trumba’s SSO capability and streamlining the vendor approval process. Universities and other large organizations with numerous locations, departments and calendars particularly appreciate the security and administrative benefits of Trumba’s SSO functionality and Trumba’s powerful calendar sharing features. InCommon member University of Utah also leverages Trumba’s SSO feature for their campus-wide online event calendars.
